Case notes
Eastside home, original 1950s copper piping. The homeowner had already patched three leaks and called us when a fourth appeared. We found the older piping was failing in multiple areas and explained that another patch would likely only be temporary. They decided to replace the aging system instead.
The previous water heater installation was missing several required safety features. There was no seismic strapping, no drain pan, and the T&P discharge was not routed properly. We replaced the unit and corrected the installation, with the required permit pulled before work began.
The homeowner noticed a warm spot on the kitchen floor, which led us to a failing hot-water line beneath the slab. Rather than cut into the finished floor to reach the damaged line, we abandoned the old run and rerouted the line through the attic. The job took two days with no concrete cutting or flooring replacement.
A leaking pipe, backed-up drain, or failed fixture can quickly turn into a bigger problem. If you can safely shut off the water, do so, then contact Purflo Plumbing so the issue can be assessed before more damage occurs.
